start with just jamming together, figure out the dynamics of the band. im not in a band but i chill w/ one all the time and they work so well because they know eachother's style and timing really well.

Just make sure that there is respect among ALL band members and you all have the same goal & focus for the direction of the band. Remember, even the best of friends in a band (including siblings) have disagreemants and fight (Sometimes even physically fighting!) because not everyone agrees on certain aspects of band music or business that lead to bad blood. If you can get over these things and forgive and forget, you've got a great start in the business.

Yeah, try not to choose flakes who always have some new excuse not to show up for practice.
