I don't know where you live, but where I'm at, if the police are called to a rental for a disturbance more than three times in six months, the land lord will get fined for the tenants behavior. Also you could call housing court, and see if you are eligible to put your rent in escrow until the landlord rectifies the situation.

let me guess, they sleep during the day? if thats the case, give em' a dose of their own medicine, I know that sounds childish, but, I've been there and it made me feel alot better! with that said and on a serious note, I think calling the police is your best bet, eventually they should get the picture and quiet it down.

p.s.- you might want to check this site out too, has alot of info.

Call the Sherriff's or Police department if it is after 10:00 pm there are city ordinances (laws) that state that such noises after 10:00 pm are against the law.. You also might want to remind your landlord about what it states in your rental contract about such goings on after 10:00pm Whether these people are the landlords friends or not it is still against the law for them to be allowed to be nuisances and your landlord is breaking the law by allwoing them to be

It sucks to be you. Our neighbors just slam the door alot. The door slightly hangs on its hinges & unless you lift up on the door its very hard to close. I know how you feel, more than likely its a year lease & it sucks that they try to hold that aginst you if you cant get the noise to stop & need to sleep for work. I notice folks that dont keep a job tend to be alot noiser due to always being awake & not having a concept of needing to sleep & awaken at the same time. Good luck to you.

You could make friends with them and kindly ask that they keep the noise to a minimum during night time hours. Or you can keep the peace and pray that the 3 year old grows out of this phase soon.

if you signed a lease; read it. all leases have "standard" sections including rules about "disturbing the peace".
The landlord may be friends with these noisy-Nora's...but it is a violation of the lease so you can leave (move) recover your security and only have to give 30 days notice. Read LANDLORD-TENANT RIGHTS. The answer to your problem is in there.

First, I don't think it's a landlord problem, he cannot control it. But you can call the police if it is very loud during the night.
