Because 1) The President hasn't done anything impeachable, and 2) the whole 'impeach' notion is parroted rhetoric intended to influence the next Presidential election and, Dems hope, future history books' blurbs about attitude.
That's what the Dem 'slow bleed' is really about, an intent to cripple the Constitutional Presidency of the United States as an alternative - and at the expense of our military during wartime. TANSTAAFL
We are fully aware that the parrots would be aghast if they woke their brains and realized that the current Vice President Cheney would be sworn in as President in that case, in addition to costing taxpayers a bundle.

You may not like him or his policies, but the facts remain he did not break the law. Everything he implemented was within the authority granted to him by our Constitution. Someone would have to provide evidence that president Bush did something illegal. It is also irresponsible for various State leglislations throughout the Country to propose impeachment without any true grounds. The fact is he never has broken any law in our government and we cannot impeach a President just because you do not like his policies.

If this is a rhetorical question, get a blog because that isn't what Yahoo Answers is for. Otherwise: Bush has committed no crime. Why should he be impeached? Because you disagree with him? There is not one shred of evidence that he lied about anything. All the intelligence supported him, even if invading an enemy country was not in our best interest. Diplomacy was not working very well with Iraq, as it is not working with Iran now. Numerous UN resolutions were passed with regard to prewar Iraq, and they were largely ignored by Saddam for years. Diplomacy only works if the other side is willing to cooperate.
If you're so fed up with Congress for not impeaching Bush, then how about this: If Congressional Democrats are so opposed to the war and all, why don't they just withdraw funding for it? Could it be because they don't want to be blamed for the chaos that would promptly ensue? No, they couldn't have that . . . they just want to stir things up by passing symbolic resolutions to express their opinions (or trying to). Ponder that for a while . . . . Good night!

Asof this point republicans for last 6 years owned both portions of congress, so they held up any true investigations, and resolutions to pass investigations.
So, they have completely protected the president.
Perhaps with new house majority they might dig alittle deeper.
But I think democrats have to choose their fights.
I think the most important topic is forcing the president to get off his lazy a** and start seeking a diplomatic solution to this problem that cant be solved with a military solution. Our troops arent diplomats. And we cant gamble with their lives as we are doing by giving Iraqi president another try -- when everyone on both sides say it may or may not work (the latest surge)
So, the safety of our troops os the most important consideration.
Sometimes you just have to pick your fights.
It would be nice that after Bush's term is up, and investigations uncover what he did topoint to him with no fall person, that we go ahead and prosecute him at a later time.

A suggestion posted on the net:
George Bush has started an ill-timed and disastrous war under false pretenses by lying to the American people and to the Congress; he has run a budget surplus into a severe deficit; he has consistently and unconscionably favored the wealthy and corporations over the rights and needs of the population; he has destroyed trust and confidence in, and good will toward, the United States around the globe; he has ignored global warming, to the world's detriment; he has wantonly broken our treaty obligations; he has condoned torture of prisoners; he has attempted to create a theocracy in the United States; he has appointed incompetent cronies to positions of vital national importance.
Now, would someone please give him a ******** so we can impeach him?

Liberals don't refrigerate semen soaked dresses in the hopes of political circus's at a later date. Democrats deal with real problems, they have enough of those, so they don't have to invent fake ones. Besides, other than Preside over the biggest insurance scam in the history of torching houses for the insurance money while reading to some school kids, causing the death of God knows how many people, and looting the Treasury of the United States and its tax payers, what has Bush done to deserve impeachment.

Two reasons
1. They are big fat liars that would say/promise *anything* to get re-elected.
2. President Bush has done nothing to be impeached for. You can't impeach just because you don't agree with policies.

Could you list the SPECIFICS under the requirements for an IMPEACHMENT to proceed? SPECIFICS under the LAW,,,not because you think he's STUPID or a MURDERER, etc. Go by the LAW. Can't do it? Didn't think you could.
