No, and I can't see how this could ever happen. I guess the only thing that could make it possible is the goalie throwing his stick, in which case the penalty shot would be re-taken.

No, although it COULD happen. The fact that it could doesn't mean it ever will. I mean there are a lot of things that can happen in that sense. Although there have been penalties called even though the team scored on a delayed penalty. Yeah it was a delayed Penalty the Penguins scored, negating the delayed one, but the opponent managed to get another one in between the delayed one and the goal being scored.

What's to prevent the goalie from either throwing his stick or bumping the net off its moorings - ad nauseum?

HMMMMMMMMM
THERE WAS A GAME IN THE EIGHTIES
(CAN'T REMEMBER WHO IT WAS)
ANYWAYS THE SHOOTER RAMMED THE NET AND INJURED THE GOALIE
HE WAS THEN GIVEN A PENALTY AND A GAME MISSCONDUCT
I WISH I COULD REMEMBER
IN 81 OR 82
LONG TIME AGO

to answer dave l.:
if the goalie kept throwing his stick or knocking the net off the moorings, he could be given a game misconduct and ejected. that would stop him.
