Why is Bill Gates retiring from microsoft?

Because he's done all that he can there. and,he's still the majority owner, and he'll still be making lots of $$. Also, by retiring, he will be able to spend more time on his charitable foundatation: The Bell and Melinda Gates Foundation.

So basically, he's retiring so he can do more good in the world.
