If you are in uni, then you shoul have no problems at all. There are some universities (in the U.S. at least, not sure about the U.K. or the continent) that even allow nudity on campus, e.g. Bennington in Vermont. If you are in middle or high school, then there may unfortunately be a dress code, but you should check to see if it is o.k. In the case of secondary educational buildings, I would simply try it first, even if there IS a dress code, and if anyone makes a fuss, I would just say I didn't know about it. Best of luck, barefoot brother!

Depending on your location you might just want to do it; if you're an Aussie people probably won't bother you at all :) Here in Europe you'll get many strange looks but chances are the teachers won't care; most schools don't have dress codes here and unlike most US folks, most people here believe barefooting is quite healthy and not dangerous.

However in the US many schools do have dress codes and specifically mention bare feet. Try wearing flipflops and kicking them off to 'test the waters'; perhaps people won't care too much and you can just get away with it. If not, there is a lot of good material at the website in the source about the health benefits of going barefoot, letters proving that there are no laws against public barefooting, etc, etc.

I've had experience with this when I was a Junior at age 16.
Try what some of the others here have recomended. Flip Flops and start removing them often. But also wear long pants that cover your Bare Feet, and experiment with this. See if others notice (or even care) if yout Feet are Bare. I had to resort to asking my parents to write a permission and liability note to continue Barefooting. After this, however, 3 other people did this with me as well. I was a good student, so teachers overlooked my Bare Feet after a while. I attended my High School graduation commencement in my Bare Feet also. It's going to take guts on your part, but it's worth it.

Wear flip flops (although most girls think that a guy who wears sandals to school is weird). Check out your school's dress code (and also the weather -- you don't want to go barefoot in the snow :D)

Well, after you get there take the shoes off and stash them in the locker, or just go there bf from home. It's not to difficult! I do it all the time, hate the shuze and pretty much live bf'n everywhere.

Only in your shoes honey....the schools have insurance and it dictates that children should wear shoes, although in hawaii...often we went to school with our surfboards and sometimes barefoot or wearing flip flops. That is my answer.

Does your school allow bare feet? Probably not.

Why don't you like shoes. Do yours not fit properly? (I'm sure you're aware of all the germs and dirt and dangers of injury if you go barefoot. - or do you want the attention you may get? You may be paying a high price for that if that's the case.

Take your shoes off.
Then hum Robert Parker's song
version of "Barefooting" while
you hobble over stony walks on
your way through the school yard.

As this is a style question, I'll assume you aren't concerned with legalities and advise you to dress like Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn. That should work.

I just left them at home...i think that's where i left them anyway. I also made these anklets that looped over the middle toe and with just a glance they looked like flip flops or something!
