Instead of selling the stuff, use the contact through EBay to get the people qualified as people that are interested in your stuff. Note the following example.

A hyperlink, or link is something that someone clicks on to get to another site.

You click on it and it takes you somewhere else. I think that what the person was trying to tell you is this: Some places will pay you to advertise. So if you put their link on your page and then people click on it you get money. I don't know how to do that, and I do not know if he is even being honest. However, if you find a link that someone will pay you to use then that is how you could do that.
