I don't know if it would be TOO scary, but there are some scenes that are a little scary. My idea of what is too scary for little kids is a bit skewed because I manage a movie theatre and I see people taking little kids to see really scary/inappropriate stuff all the time - Blood Diamond, Apocalypto, The Hills Have Eyes, Saw, etc. And usually when I try to say something I get a line like "it's ok, they see it on TV anyway", or "they like that kind of stuff", or some other variation.
I do think the movie presents some good themes for parents to talk about with their kids. The stuff about bullying makes an especially good talking point.

The movie is about two kids who become friends and imagine a fantasy world and getting revenge on bullies.
The fantasy scenes shown in the trailer are only a very short part of the story which includes a pretty nasty death near the end.

It could be but generally its not all that scary. I guess it depends on the individual child some children are very sensitive to those kinda things, it would be a judgement call on the parents part.

NO it wont be scary at all for u 5 year old. although i'm not sure the is enough "KIDDY" stuff in there for a five year old. its almost two hours long and its not really for youngins. story line is more for like 9 years and up.

If I remember correctly, there is a death in the book. I would not take my 5 year old to see it.

I don't know. I haven't seen it yet. It looks a little scary to me, as I'm scared of bridges.

it really depends on the child and their ability to be able to understand certain aspects in the movie, i know for a fact it has a pretty strong theme of death involved.....judge for yourself, only you know the childs capabilities....
