I think that it is a mixed bag of tricks, I certainly think that a bunch are in fact born this way. I also think that there are those that practice homosexuality that aren't really gay,.......did you raise your eyebrow to that?
there are many men in prison that have male lovers in the prison but when they leave prison they no longer have these affairs. I would also say that there are many more bi's than would admit it.
We have an element in society that suffer from gender dysphoria, I am real sure that they don't choose this. I think that it would be very hard to go into public dressed as a woman and under it all know that you have a male's plumbing

If you don't believe ALL of the bible then you are not a Christian. Old testament, new testament- doesn't matter which part(s) you like or don't like. Jesus quoted from the OT all the time, so if he has credibility, so does the OT. Therefore, you are not a Christian if you do not believe all of it!
That being said, people have a tendency toward misbehavior due to human imperfection caused by inherited sin. Some people lean toward kleptomania, some homosexuality, and so on...
You are not born that way in the sense that God created you that way. But no matter what tendencies you have, God promises to assist you in whatever way is needed to help you resist it as long as you are willing to do His will. By giving into your tendency and ignoring God's standards, you are, in effect, CHOOSING that lifestyle.

There is no DNA gene that passes down a gay gene.
Else it would have been passed down from the very beginning of time to each of the generations, hence you wouldnt have or you would have more -- people passing it onto their offspirng.
Meaning all gay people from B.C. would have a lineage that proved the theory.
Its a learned behavior, and what started out as people resorting to the lifestyle as a result of abuse or rejection has blossumed into an experimental lifestyle that has changed in meaning.
Now its a cool thing to try.
thats why we cant allow gay marriages, or else our 8 year old kids will see gays everywhere, and your sons or daughters first date will be with someone of the same sex.
Does anyone really want that?
I know I dont.
And as far as being a CHRISTian and not agreeing with the Bible much, thats kinda contradiction isnt it?
For the only teachings we have of CHRIST's life is through what s left to us in the Bible.
to each his own.
But scientist have been duping the people for years.
Most scientists are after that one breakthrough to make them famous. And whoever tries to link a dna gene to homosexuality is a quack. And so are the people that believe it to be true.

Absolutely not a choice. I happen to believe it's a chemical composition in the brain that differs between hetero and homosexuals- my sister at an early age, under the teachings of the bible, seemed to have an affinity for dressing like a boy, and playing the boy in dress up, she is recently out of the closet. How could she decide to be gay suddenly, when her subconcious actions of her earlier days predicted this. She wasn't evil. She didn't know she was gay. Anyone who sais it's a choice don't understand the concequences of that statement. They're the same people who insist on shock therapy for their gay son/daughter and mess up their whole life. Can you really, like was said choose to be gay or attracted to the same gender? Is that like saying you can choose to be straight? Hmmm... monday is my straight day, tuesday straight, wednesday I'll decide depending on my mood, thursday i'll decide that she looks sexually appealing. It just doesn't work that way.

Truly gay people are born gay, I have several family members who are gay, and have said they always knew that they were different. Besides, Who would choose to be discriminated against? Not me. Now, I do think some people just do it for attention, and to "experiment", and I doubt they were born that way. Also, for the record, I am not prejudice, and I truly believe people should Live and Let Live....

I believe people are born without any preferance to who they like, and by their surroundings, they choose themselves. Since most children don't see many gay people, or aren't explained what they are, a vast majority is straight. But as they grow older and see boys and boys, and then girls and girls, some steer away from their first impressions of relationships.

There is a third possiblility - it could be that they are born uncommitted either way, but their early environment shapes them into it - before they are old enough to have any say - so it is neither a choice nor a genetic doom

They do NOT choose it. I have several friends/stepchildren who are gay. It is not a choice. They do not do it deliberately, or because they want to. It is how they are born.
