You can't get a full domain name to yourself for free, but you can piggyback off a domain for free. ie: you can't get bobsmith.com for free, but you can get bobsmith.8m.com etc.
Try Freeservers.com - I've been using them for years because you can choose your own domain name and the domain it piggybacks off like 8m.net or 4t.com so you can choose a nice short one.

domain names [ie: www.domain.com] almost never come free. The only time they can come "free" is when you get a domain for free when you buy a hosting package from somewhere like 1and1.com.
The only other free domain name isn't a domain name at all, but a subdomain. A subdomain looks something like this: sub.domain.com.
You may see this a lot with blogger accounts or other free web hosting sites as they just attach the user's username as a subdomain to their own domain.

There are no free domain, other wise you can be one of the group in that domain.
You may use www.multiply.com or www.angelfire.com
or designed your own web using google
They will provide you I GB space for the files with your own email support.

You won't be able to get a completely free domain name. Go to www.freewebs.com and make an account there....that's a good site for a free URL (for example: if you make your account name "bob", your website will be www.freewebs.com/bob)
