For JUST bills (not statements, paystubs, etc.) I simply file them in one file, one behind the other as they come in. When the new one comes in, I check it against the old one then shred the old one and file the new one in the back of the folder. That way, I
only keep the current copy of the bill and it pops to the front when it's time for the new one (so I can see if one is missing).
Here's what I mean. Let's say I have 5 monthly bills: electric, gas, water, credit card, and student loan. I arrange them in order (by billing date) in the folder (oldest in front to newest in back):
(folder back)
student loan
credit card
water
gas
electric
(folder front)
When the next bill comes in, it should be the electric bill (if not, I need to contact the elec. company). I verify they received the last payment, then slip it in the back of the file and shred the old one. Now the file looks like this:
(folder back)
electric
student loan
credit card
water
gas
(folder front)
Again, the next bill should be for the gas (if not, call the gas co.)...

Since you already have a computer create a spread sheet.
Every time you open a new bill enter the due date, interest rate, late fee if any and amount on your sheet. Keep all hard copies of the bills together in one place. Once a week spend 5 minutes reviewing what is due and make the necessary payments accordingly.

I went to Target and bought a "bill organizer" it's a wooden box with 30 numbered slots on the top. When the bills come in, just drop them in the slot that they will be due on.
The best way for me was to use Yahoo's Calendar. I write in what bill is due when and then print up a calendar for that month. You can even have Yahoo email you a reminder before they're due.
These work pretty well for me! good luck

In addition to 1organizing bills by dates due and 2 reviewing weekly with an eye to what you will pay out of each pay check, keep a master list of when recurring bills are due. That way you are less likely to miss a payment.
Most charge cards will let you change your due date if you call and ask.

Well if you are overcome, you may want to organize them by what is necessary to keep survival needs met and then what the interest is on each debt after that. You gotta keep warm and be able to cook ....stuff like that. If a debt has high interest, it is costing you more money than the rest. Pay that one off first if you can .....to save money in the long run.

i mark them on a calendar, the date they are due. i also put the due date on the outside of the envelope and keep them in a calendar book. if you have a lot of bills, make sure you keep them in the same place so you don't have to go looking for them.
