Ok so I went to the doctor today and since I have been bleeding for near 3 weeks. I haven’t had a period for 4 months before now. He put me on a prescription called Norethindrone Acetate. Which is used to treat disorder of the lining of the uterus. Which the doctor told me it will make me stop bleeding then he said afterwards I will have a very short period but no where near heavy bleeding. “12 day supply of pills” Well when this is all said and done I go back to the doc in 3 weeks and then he’s going to put me on a medication that will make me ovulate more meaning produce more eggs. I’m just total blown away by the whole thing I mean I know my periods where always different each month ranging from 32 to 45 days but I never thought I would have a problem with my ovulation guess that’s why the ovulation test always said negative. Anyone else been on this medicine or gone threw something like this?

ovulation is what drives menstruation... so your periods are off because you're not ovulating regularly... the period is the "effect".. not the "cause"... make sense?

now, I'm confused as to what medication he will be putting you on to have you ovulate. There is medication to make you ovulate and there is medication to hyperstimulate the ovaries to cause more that 1 egg to be released at the time of ovulation to increase chances of pregnancy. It sounds like he's trying to regulate your cycle by actually forcing your body to ovulate, It you have bad feelings about this doctor, get a 2nd opinion, always listen to your gut feeling...

Well i've never had a problem like that but it sound to me like he put you on the ovulation pills because everytime you bleed you're being cleaned out so that means that your eggs are coming out with the blood everytime you ovulate. So he puts you on those pills to increase your chances of pregnancy when you're ready
