We have just found out this week thats what they are building very close to us it is for the good of the people we are told and we dont get a chance to express how we feel about being made a terrorist target so much for democracy sounds more like communism to me.

No thats the point OLD Salt they have had 3yrs of secret negotiations and now they have decided we get to read it in the newspaper very democratic by the way it is not in USA.

Murray H I know were my loyaties lie not with the terrorists I just dont want to be one of their targets. At least our country allows US naval ships to visit and have troops serving in Iraq unlike yours.

People had the right to object to a building that is being built for espionage and other activities that intrudes into the privacy of persons.

SPY BASE? Wow, will your property values climb! Or is that FALL? Depends on if you want your property assessment to go up or down. You say CLOSE to you? Next door? Five miles away?
I live near Naval Air Station Oceana, Va and depending on the weather, under the flight path of FA-18s....F-14s, F-4's, etc at first...and have for over 23 years...I got used to it. I don't feel we're near a terrorist target.
You won't be a terrorist target!
Did they have hearings to explain it all to you? Bet you never went. Bet you don't read the paper where those things are announced. Contact your city hall to ask them when they held the hearings. We have whiners who bought property near the air station and now are complaining about the noise!
If you think that's COMMUNISM, you failed civics class or history class because you haven't a CLUE what COMMUNISM is.

Don't panic. A spy base is a crappy target for terrorists. It is rude that they don't have a public hearing so you can whine for a while before they build it anyway, but I doubt you'll be hurt by it. If I could afford to live in Langley (home of the CIA), I would!

That would be a great listening post for Indonesia, India and Pakistan, Afghanistan & parts of the Middle East, depending upon the power of the device.

Where are they building this base? If you know its a Spy base, their cover is already blown. Not a very good spy base.
