India is unique for at least 6000 years and it will always be unique. A country with its own private ocean (Indian Ocean) does not have to be like any country.

Hello !
I don't think India will become like other countries. I know this sounds surprising as India's economy is growing by 9.25% per year. But until and unless Indians get together against corruption, all the things are of no use. Also Indians are very careless about cleanliness about their own country. So basically, it is an attitude problem. And I dont think so it will change ever. I advise you to go any other country where you can feel proud of your country like America or Japan or Australia.

INDIA is one of the oldest civilisations in the world with a kaleidoscopic variety and rich cultural heritage. It has achieved multifaceted socio-economic progress during the last 58 years of its Independence. India has become self-sufficient in agricultural production, and is now the tenth industrialised country in the world and the sixth nation to have gone into outer space to conquer nature for the benefit of the people. It covers an area of 32,87,263 sq km, extending from the snow-covered Himalayan heights to the tropical rain forests of the south. As the seventh largest country in the world, India stands apart from the rest of Asia, marked off as it is by mountains and the sea, which give the country a distinct geographical entity. Bounded by the Great Himalayas in the north, it stretches southwards and at the Tropic of Cancer, tapers off into the Indian Ocean between the Bay of Bengal on the east and the Arabian Sea on the west.
The civilization of India is one of the oldest civilizations in the World, spanning more than 4000 years and witnessing the rise and fall of several Empires, and projecting a unique assimilation of various cultures and heritage. The Country has always been portrayed as a land of spiritual integrity with professors of Philosophy, who have engineered the magnanimity of its nationalism. One of the oldest scriptures in the World, the four-volume Vedas that many regard as the repository of national thoughts, which have anticipated some of the modern scientific discoveries, has been created in the orb of this myth oriented Country. This strong affinity with religion and mythology has been reflected time and again through various art forms and performing arts, which are symbolical of the composite culture of India. Unity in diversity is another facet of the Country’s inherent nationalism, which had been fused by the feeling of national fervour incited by various foreign invasions that ever made its way to the Indian shores. Religious tolerance and cultural amalgamation have given shape to a uniquely secular Nation, which has created an impressive status of itself in the global arena.

Among all countries in the world, India has inherited
the largest number of ancient manuscripts from time
immemorial. They were written on the widest range of
subjects known to humans.
Why then are we not able to use our own ancient knowledge?
It is a law of nature that everything in creation must go
through cycles of time. The period of light must be
followed by a period of darkness, and the period of
wakefulness must be followed by a period of sleep. And the
period of happiness must by followed by a period of
sorrow; otherwise, the human mind will not give the due
value to happiness. After a period of sorrow, the
happiness that comes next will be much more heartening.
Hence, according to that law, the higher psyche of Indians
is at sleep now. Will it wake up in the near future? Can
we see it during our own life time? Yes. Some astrologers,
both Indian and Western, have predicted that India will
awaken to a part of its prestigious glory in about two
decades from now. One visioner wrote:
"(In India), good character and culture will be inculcated
in all spheres of life. .... Due to the scientific
progress achieved by India and her increased amity with
America, Indian society will shed its degenerate culture
and become progressive. By 2020, Indian society would have
significantly expanded its thinking. .... Spiritual books,
originating from India, will become extremely popular and
command a global audience. From 2010, winds of
spiritualism will blow across the entire world, awakening
more and more people in its wake. Where limits of (modern)
science end, spiritualism begins. .... Along with
scientific progress, intellectuals will start recognizing
the importance of spiritualism. .... From 2050, a new era
will begin...." (Swami Dattavadhut, Prophecies 1998 to 2100,
Vanita Books, Mumbai, 1997, pp. 33-42).

India is the BEST.........
Only problem here is CORRUPTION........It leads to all the problems.
No corruption means proper system that can take care of all the problrms.
But the way INDIA is doing despite of this Corruption, terrorism etc problems is a miracle.
Look at what just one terrorist attack on America did to its economy.
When you live at a place you get to know about the Plus minus of that very place.
I live in Canada and will say that India minus Corruption will be the best place in Universe.

India is not like other countries because it is unique in it self.
People always look at the negative points of india.
they don't realise that we should be proud to be indians. india has the largest delta(ganga-brahmaputra delta), it has the highest mountains(the himalayas), it has plateausdeccan, chota nagpur, etc), it has so many river(narmada, kosi, ganges, sutlej, etc) and look at the diversity of culture, people, religion, clothes,etc...what else does a person want.
and you asked whether it will become like other countries or not. I say it won't but it will surely go ahead of them. and i would never like india to be like anothr county but i would like it to go ahead of all of them.
