I think it was a lot tougher on Saddam that it was on Bush.
Most Americans are still a little resentful at the fact that Rosie Greer was a little slow on his last tackle. Sir Han Sir Han wasn't the best champion of Palestinian causes if getting Americans to sympathize with his side was his goal.
Most Americans who aren't old enough to remember Bobby, still remember throngs of Palestinians jumping for joy at the fall of the Twin Towers, again not the best tool to establish positive diplomatic ties with the U.S
In truth, most non-Arab, non-Muslim Americans should by rights have about the same level of hatred for the "Arab World", as the Arab World claims to have for America.
The only problem is that most non-Arab, non-Muslim Americans are primarily Christian, and Christainity teaches them to love their enemies. Go figure, the insanity that effects the Jews and the Muslims doesn't work on Christians. Christianity serves like a vaccine against such spiritual evil like the hatred shared by the Jews and Arabs for each other.
What is interesting is, when pushed far enough, we (the U.S.) will in fact give Iran the Nuke they are trying so hard to obtain. If you don't believe me, ask Japan, they got two for the price of one, just for the scientific curoisity of it all.
Last but not least, the distinctly Arab tendency of declairing victory after an enemy destroys the infrastructure of a Muslim country defys reality about as completely as a whorehouse full of 72 virgins being the reward for the perpatrators of henious crimes being considered heaven.
I don't know what's worse Arabs claiming victory after Israel destroys the jewel of the Middle East's non-Christian tourst destination (Lebonon) or Sadat & Rabine being killed respectively by their own insane people.
Bush is a lot of negative things, but soft isn't one of them

Because this is not an Army vs. Army conflict. Our military could kick *** on a battlefield, but our enemy hides behind women and children...and we respect innocent human life, so we are trying to do this methodically by reducing civilian casualties. If the enemy wasn't a coward and would come out in force onto a battlefield...you'd quickly see the strength of our military. It would not be tough for us at all.
And Bush has never been wishy washy. His goal has always been to defeat the enemy, bring them to justice and free the people of Iraq. It's our other politicians who are wishy washy and get nervous with every stupid poll.
