I am a teenager. I am very busy during all times of the year, but I would do ANYTHING for this trip. It is my life dream to travel 3erd world countries (mostly africa) and aid them. I know that my family will not be able to supply hardly any money for this trip, so i need ideas...great ideas. By the way I only have about 3-4 months to earn it...that makes it harder doesnt it? lol. HELP!

5 grand in 4 months = US$1,250 per month, or $312.50 per week. You've got some work ahead of you.
1. Try going with the aforementioned sponsors. My wife and I did that for our cousin; he raised about US$3K from several sponsors for his photography field trip in the Appalachian (sp?) Mountains in America.
2. Depending on where you live, you could also get a job to raise some of that cash for yourself. McDonalds, Burger Queen, and the like are always hiring part-timers. Just REFRAIN from telling them your plans and how long you'll be working for them otherwise they will balk at hiring you.
3. Lastly, you didn't state your age, so if you're 16 or older, it's possible, not an absolute, that you could join the PeaceCorps, or similar government agency, and volunteer for "duty" in Africa. You may or may not receive a stipend, but, they always NEED folks like yourself to help them. You'll receive on-the-job training and the experience will prepare you for the world after high school with a great entry on your professional resume (or CV).
You should consider researching this last option or have your folks help you research it.

I would say that, at this point, with so little time left, about the only option open to you is to find SPONSORS who are willing to foot the bill.
