it sounds like a legit deal, I would just be wary, if she is three and only "broke to ride" you should make sure to ask them why they aren't keeping the horse longer. (meaning. . . if the horse is that great why are they selling? they could put a year of training on it, start it over fences and probly make double what they are asking). if it isn't far, it can't hurt to go look. But tread carfully, and make sure to spend the extra money for a full vet exam (nervous system, blood work, everything)

I would be weary of any for sale ad just because we live in a buyer beware world. Sellers advertise only the good aspects of the horse, not the bad. The horse might act like an eight year old because he's on heavy supplements like Quietex or Shin Calmer. Or he might really be a quiet horse. You can't know the answer until you see the horse in person. Of course, with today's atmosphere of buying and selling horses sight unseen, that might not be possible. In which case, you should definitely get a video of the horse to evaluate. You should also find an independent veterinarian (not one recommended by the seller) to evaluate the horse. A trainer's opinion (again, not recommended by the seller) could also tell you if the horse is a quiet as it's advertised. No matter what its disposition, though, a young green horse requires either an experienced rider or the assistance of a professional trainer. Be honest with yourself. If you're a novice, I'd recommend an older or more experienced horse.

Do I believe a three year old acts like an 8 year old? It's possible.
I occasionally ride a three year old who is calmer than my 18 year old.
If you have experience with a young horse or know someone who can help you out, I'd say go take a look.
