Why does Anna Nicoles mother have these rights?

Anna Nicole was estranged from her mother for 15 years before her death, and had been on her own since 15. How was her mother able to get a court order in the bahamas preventing Anna's long time companion Howard Stern from taking his own daughter out the country? That seems like an injustice.

Her mother was abusive to her as a child. Her father left home when she was only 2 years old. Her mother had a string of men in and out of their home, and Anna was abused terribly.

That's why she left home at only 15 as you say.

It is unfortunate but her mother was not a good mother and Anna made it very clear she wanted nothing to do with her.

Anna's wishes she be respected.

I see exactly what you are saying because I feel the same way. The only reason Anna's mom was able to get a court order in the Bahamas was because she is Anna's mom and that will never change no matter how estranged Anna was from her mom. Howard Stern was never married to Anna and we don't know if he is the father just yet so that's also part of the reason. I believe that DannieLynn will be able to learn more about her mother more with Howard than with Anna's mother. If DannieLynn doesn't leave with Howard, I hope that she ends up with Larry Birkhead because she does DannieLynn does look like Larry Birkhead.
I think if Anna's mom gets the baby she'll take all of the money Anna left for DannieLynn and she'll treat DannieLynn like she treated Anna. Also, if Anna's mom gets Anna's body she'll bury her in Texas and she'll sell tickets or something so people can view her body. I think this about Anna's mom because I think she's up to no-good because you have to think about what made Anna leave Texas and seek a better life at any means possible including stripping, getting money out of J. Howard Marshall, and all the rest of the things she did throughout her life.
I just wish DannieLynn the best because she deserves a better life than what her mother was living - a far better life.

Isn't it strange that someone you haven't spoken to in 10-15 years now has rights over you, your money and possibly your child? No we weren't in their houses, but Anna's mother has been on numerous tv shows bad mouthing her daughter and Anna has gone on telling everyone who'd listen who she despised her mom. So yeah, it seems like an injustice, but Anna didn't specify in her will, her 2001 will!, what her wishes were for anything.

I have seen an interview where she said her mother makes her sick and said her mother beat her etc she also called her mommy dearest

anything inherited goes to next of kin. She never married Howard. This is her mother. Don't underestimate the power of hollywood..The store we are told could be completely wrong..You have no idea what took place between her and her mother. You were not there and you are not anna. Its not the courts problem to understand their relationship..its their job to release her body and inheritence to the next of kin.
