Strength depends on what you're measuring. Most of the people who are talking about how the heart pumps blood everyday constantly are referring to muscular endurance, which is not muscular strength. To clarify the difference, think of it this way: A body builder lifts their max weight (let's say 400lbs) 5 times, a triathlete lifts 200lbs 10 times. Same amount of weight, one is just doing more reps, requiring more endurance, so strength is in perception and what you're measuring.
Instead of telling the teacher they're wrong, tell them that you've heard the tounge is the strongest, and ask what makes the heart stronger. A good teacher will explain their answer, a great teacher will get you to understand the answer. If that is their subject of interest, they'll be willing to explain it to you, or at least their source, have your's ready too though. The weakest arguements are generally those that can't be backed up.

Your right.. but ask your teacher what she defines strong as.. the tonge had the most ability if trained howerver the heart does work 24/7!! i mean think about it.. try excersing your tonge over and over again... it will hurt ( so dont do it)...
It all depends on how u defing the word strong.. your teacher would be worng if she said that the heart is the strongest muscle and you would be wrong if you said that the tongue is the strongest .. ask her what she defines strong as.. in a way both of you are right.. you just have to justify your self.

If you know better correct her but do it politely, say something like I heard the tongue is the strongest muscle but you said it's the heart?? leave it open ended so that the teacher can explain their reasoning

you may be right but how re you measuring strength? is the tongue the strongest muscle relative to its size? is the heart? the heart needs the least amount of recovery time before it can contract again. the gluteus maximus is the largest muscle and is capable of puting forth a lot of force. i have seen weight lifters lift over 1,000 lbs (deadlift)

Tell your teacher that the strongest muscle for its weight is the tongue. The strongest muscle overall is the butt! (gluteus maximus. The most active muscle in you body is the heart but it could not beat your gluteus in an arm wrestle.

You're both wrong. The jaw muscle is stronger. The usefulness of the tongue lies in its flexibility, not its strength. For the heart, it is its resilience.

How can the tongue be the strongest muscle? Muscles are classified into three types cardiac, smooth, and skeletal. The cardiac muscle is the strongest.
Edit: Cardiac and smooth muscles are involuntary.
