The Brit award has just been, but there are so many artists and bands that never get any awards, even if they had deserved one. Which artist/band would you like to have won? Who do you think is the most underated artist/ band ever?

Personally; I would say Lene Lovich! They just don't make them like that anymore.. A brilliant artist and performer, that if you ever met or heard, would never forget!

Well i was born in the late 70's & i didn't get into these guys til college. But for me it must be The Smiths. One guy from Salford who shared our dorms lent me their debut album,Morrissey wrote some of the best lyrics ever & Johnny Marr's music was amazing.I defy anyone to listen to how soon is now or this charming man or i know it's over. They've influenced everybody since the 80's right up til today.Sadly under-rated & never properly acknowledged.

Depends on the Genre. Personally I am a big fan of the Eels and Toadies in the alternative spectrum, the Kinks are a great older Rock and Roll band and Spacehog was pretty awesome too.

In terms of modern bands I think starsailor are very underrated along with Sinead Lohan and Luca Bloom, older band that were underrated would be the likes of the stiff little fingers or thin lizzy

Eg & Alice.
They released an album in 1991 called 24 Years Of Hunger.
It's a beautiful chilled out album, and was criminally under-rated when it came out,
Few people bought it, but those that did were rewarded with some of the best songs of the decade.
If you go to 'www.rateyourmusic.com' , enter Eg & Alice, and read the reviews, you'll see what I mean.

The Flaming Lips , (Wayne Coyne and Steven Drodz). They were nominated for a Brit but didnt win. At War With The Mystics is a genuinely great album.
