It could definitely be true to life. True love often takes time to grow, especially between people who are friends before they date, and it could conceivably take years for the love to grow. However, I don't think real life would be as funny as the movie--unless you were really lucky.

And if you are referring to the scene in the diner when Sally fakes an orgasm for the whole place--yes, that's very true...

Great movie!! I suppose some parts are true-to-life, like when Billy Crystal said (at a young age) that men and women can't be just friends. I know you have got to be referring to the scene in the diner--yes, that's very true--ask anyone!! :D
