Of what? The use of "Candle in the Wind" to portray the life of Anna Nicole Smith? It's just a song.
Yes ok, it was used extensively around the time of Princess Dianna's death, and Elton John even adjusted the lyrics for her funeral, but it's still just a song. It was actually written about Marilyn Monroe if we want to get technical. It's a seemingly fitting portrayal of a life in the spotlight, cut short by the pressures of stardom. It would be appropriate for many people, including Anna Nicole Smith.

I think it's appropriate since that song was written for Marilyn Monroe and Anna wanted to be like her.

That can easily be turned round to .... "What to Americans think of the song being re-worded, just because some blonde bird died in France, when it was originally written about Marilyn Monroe."

What does get me is how the BBC feel her to actually be news worthy

Candle in the Wind was used as a tribute for Diana, but was not written specifically for Diana.

As already stated.. the orignal song was in memory and honour of Marilyn Monroe.

It is not a song reserved just for royalty.
