All depends on the bearded Dragon and what it has to climb on. They tend to not like anything too steep. Mine loves to climb on top of a peice of drift wood I got. My friend's beardie hates to climb up anything though, so it all depends on the beardie. :)

In general as a rule bearde dragons are more ground loving then tree loving. That is why the minimum tank required for an adult is a forty gallon breeder tank. Breeder tanks have less height but more floor space. I have an enclosure that is 3 1/2 ft high and I wish that I could somehow split it in two height wise. It is hard gettign the temps right and the fact that they have to be so close to the basking light means they have to be high. They seem to eventually fall off of everything. I tried a hammock with huge peice of bark leaning up to it and they fell. I tried these stupid stick on rock ledges(don't ever get them)and they fall off. I now have bricks from a freinds house project stepped up and they still fall but the way I have it set at least now they can't fall far. They can and do try to climb things but are as clumsy as a bag of hammers. I love them to death but gracefull climbers they are not. LOL

Bearded dragons with a habitat that is too small have no choice but to stay on the ground but when provided an adequate area, they will climb. I have kept a pair in a 130 gal Perfecto reptile habitat with a driftwood that reached to the top and one lazed on the top, while the other lazed on the bottom. We have a customer who keeps a pair in a 90 gallon aquarium and theirs like to sit on top of a rock cave that catches the heat from the light. Bearded dragons like to sit a lot no matter what. Cool pets though, aren't they?

They're natural climbers. OZ, my dragon lives on the highest point of his branch. He only comes down to hunt.

Are you kidding, yes! My beardie used to climb up our textured walls when he was a baby... but now that he's bigger it doesn't work, so he climbs the curtains. :)

No, they need lots of ground room but the only high point they need is by their heat lamp.
