What is the proper way to dispose of a Ouija Board?

i always hear that you should burn it. but i saw a few sites that its not such a good idea to do that because it will kill you with its scream or curse you or something like that so what is the real proper way to dispose of a Ouija Board?

as i said ALOT of sites say not to burn it because it can either kill you or curse you.... maybe you all should read what i said next time

Burning the board straight away is not wise, especially if it has been used. You don't know if the door/portal that was opened was closed and what ever came through was put back.

What I would suggest for the distruction of the board would comprise of 3 parts.
1. A cleansing
2. Then distroying the board in fire, yes burning it
3. Focusing of energy

The cleansing. Start by opening or casting a sacred circle. Cast the circle around the board, leave it lying in the ground next to a fire pit. Make sure every thing you will need is inside the circle . you must NOT leave the circle once you open it.
Using a smudge stick cleanse the circle and your aura. Then move the smoke of the smudge stick over the board. Recite chants of prayers to remove the energy from the board. If you know how to do a bannishing penticle you can do this over the board with the smudge stick. Meditate quietly, see the energies in the board being weakened and trapped.
Then throught the board into the fire. Start the fire once the circle is cast. As you through the board into the fire ask the fire spirits to take the energy in the board and send it out.
Meditating again see yourself being protected from any energies by the flames of the fire. See the energy being bannisned out into the universe never to return.
Sit for a while. When you are happy, that the great spirit, angels spirit guides etc for their help. Then you may exit the Circle.
If you move in the circle Always move clockwise.

I actually agree with Chris J.
Never mind all those who say it's just a piece of cardboard. It may be that, but it is also a representation of a gateway; it has been designed and intended as such even if not everyone sees it that way. Regardless of its maker's intention, the use of Ouija boards in history means that the properties of 'gateway' are now present to some degree in ALL Ouija boards.
I suggest you purchase some unused white cotton cloth and some white string. Wrap the board in the cloth and tie the string around it. Find a patch of dirt somewhere not very close to your home. Dig a little hole. Cross yourself and make a very simple prayer to some universally good deity - use the Archangel Gabriel if you like, he is very kind and doesn't even mind if you aren't Christian - to assist you in ridding yourself and your home of the influences of this item. Cover it up and say clearly, 'The disposal of this item is complete. Let it be gone from me and my home.'
I think this should cover any possibilities. It's possibly a little over the top but why take chances with a potential gateway. Do it all with serious intent and everything should be fine. Good luck.

someone left a ouija board at my moms house, when she had a halloween party , she found it the next day while cleaning up after the party, it was never used and she does not know who brought it in the house, she ended up throwing it away in the garbage, because she gets creeped out by the board.

my mom always said aside from her 5 daughters, she has always had the worst personal luck, and she still talkes about that even today and thats before i was born and i am 40 now,

but anyway she was told... to buy another one and give it away, and her luck will change, ouija boards freak my mom out even back then, so she won't buy one, and do that for fear of passing bad luck to someone else

but now the thought to my mom's ouija board sitituation from years ago, maybe thats why the board was left at her place to rid someone of their bad luck......

anyway my moms really superstitious and that might have something to do with it, but she is taking no chances

The most effective way to get rid of a ouija board is to tear it up into pieces and burn it. Be sure to burn the planchette as well.

i burned mine and i did not hear a scream.. it did take a while to burn though.. maybe the site you were reading about were talking about a home made board that you put a spell on to make it work.. the one i burned i got from Walmart...i never could get the thing to work for me .. if your really freaked buy it... have a yard sale and put it into it

Interesting... you could just pass it on to someone else. My mother tried for YEARS to get me to take her Ouija Board from the 1960's. She finally succeeded. Now it is in a box somewhere in my garage. When I find it, perhaps I will give it to someone else, since I have no children of my own. Incidentally, I never got a single message out of it. But I didn't try real hard...

i've got study in some places in the past that in case you attempt to break an ouija board, you would be cursed by ability of it. a house made possible additionally be worse. if i've got been you, incredibly than tempt destiny, i'd only positioned it away someplace, or provide it away to somebody.

The Ouija board should be folded seven times successively, each fold should be half of the previous fold and each time you should chant "Yee ekkual to yem cee skuared".

Its a fun toy and need not be treated any special. I dumped mine in the garbage and so far I dont feel any effects of its curse.

The energy of that person is still attached
So if you burn it you free the energy

Give it away. Either find someone who wants it or give it to a charity store. The luck, good or bad, will go with the board.
