We all have fears, and part of getting over them is to admit you have one. The big one. The one you can't control.

My biggest fear is of snakes. I have good reason and although I'm much older now to this day when I'm surprised by one I freak out for a moment.

When I was 5 we went to Texas to visit cousins. At a picnic we played wiffleball. I was little and in left field when the ball came my way. It went over my head and they all cheered, "Get the ball, find the ball, throw it home!" So I did find it. It was up against a log near the scrub of the boundry, so I reached for it, and when I did I felt heat. At first it was hot in a spot, like a wasp sting, then it went up my arm like electricity. I held my arm up to throw the ball, still being cheered on and saw a snake attached as tall as I was. I tossed the ball lamely, and started to run. The snake let go and a few feet later my Dad tackled me. Next thing I knew I was in the hospital being treated for rattlesnake.

So my question is, I know why I'm afraid of snakes, for those who are so afraid of homosexuals, how did it happen to you?

I am homosexual, and proudly so.

I'm horribly arachnophobic(sp?) And not as much of a homophobe as I was a couple years back, now that one of my friends came out of the closet. (We're still good friends mind you.) I suppose humans are just afraid of things that are different. I don't mean this in an offensive way, but homosexuality is a little out of the norm, so people don't have an understanding of it; therefore, they are afraid of it. So do not judge those who judge you, for the circle of hatred will never end.

Well, I can't really think of many things that I am afraid of, like you are with snakes. I guess my biggest fear is that I have a medical problem while I am alone at home. My father had a stroke when he was by himself at home, and the person he was living with did not come home for several hours. It caused him to be much worse than if he had immediate medical attention. And since I currently live alone, I am worried that if something were to happen, no one would find me for days.

I am bi-sexual and not afraid at all of my lifestyle, just quiet about it. In fact, this maybe sad, but the only place I talk about it is on yahoo answers! My partner did actually correct someone today that asked if we were sisters. She said, no actually she is my partner, and I actually did not feel freaked out for about the first time. I usually prefer to keep my relationships private, but i am changing and getting more open, probably due to spending time here! Oh by the way, I am TERRIFIED of snakes!

What a great question!! I'm not homophobic so I can't answer that for you.. but I have often wondered the same thing..So lets see when I was first married I think It was that my husband would have an affair. Well my first one did and I lived thru it and am now w/ a wonderful man and have 3 great kids.. so now I guess it would be something happening to my child.

I am most afraid of failure, and I am a member of the LGBT community.

If I fail, then my grandparents will no longer be proud of me. I am, and I quote, "The only good thing in their lives." If I fail, then, I will be just like my drug addict parents, and my abandoning uncle. If I fail, then I deserve whatever happens because of it. If I fail, then my life will end.

It doesn't help that my grandfather has been planning my wedding and my children's names since I was younger than three, and my grandmother is disappointed in what I am already.

If I fail at anything else- schoolling, my career, -anything- then everything will be lost.

Everything.
