...do they get more or less like themselves? Say, if a drunk person did something really bad - are they being taken over by the alcohol, or is the alcohol showing who they really are?

Anyone have experience with this? Thanks for any input!

alcohol releases the most secret and subterranean thoughts and feelings of people and helps them to express it.so yes, they do get more like themselves when talking bout their real mental state, which is not shown while theyre sober

they are still themselves, alcohol just breaks down a few of the walls some people might have, so someone who might have a slight problem with someone else will be more open about it and confront them. alcohol usually brings out the truth, it just exaggerates it, sometimes exaggerating it to the point where they go to far. it doesn't make them a bad person, alcohol just causes people to not realise as easily when they have stepped over a line.

When drunk, the majority of people will not express themselves.
This is because if somebody has something deep inside it will not come out the right way. Its better to be honest sober. It´s a good way to confront feelings. Alcoholic beverages are good if they can be enough to feel relaxed. If it goes beyond that, people are not theme selves.

That's a really good question, I think that drinking brings out the stupid side of people, alcohol always makes people make huge mistakes and if you have ever been a sober person around heaps of drunks, then you know how stupid you can really get when you drink.

hey usually drucken people are somewat very unusual and sometimes they might juz reached the limit. u know at tis means.
(chaos, rebellions, bedshare, and much more).
but the next day if that person is asked for the purpose, he would say tat he wouldn't hav drunk coz the ale has some sort of power which may lead to memory loss.
but this quality is being shown in the movies and now many citizens are getting spoiled....
we hav to take severe actions fore stopping this. but having a fight after having a wine won't hurt them coz they wouldn't even know wats happening. tat is y this is very dangerous and they may act very stupid many a time.

Alcohol just makes a person more willing to do things that they wouldn't do if they were sober. It relaxes you and allows you to let your hair down. It could also make some people want to fight or act like a total idiot. Some people act the opposite of who they really are when sober.

People often will use being drunk as an excuse for behavior outside their normal realm. Cheating on a spouse for example. I have been so drunk as to seeing double, slurred speech, unable to stand. I have never cheated on my wife drunk, sober, but not drunk. I think people do the things they want to do, they are hoping the drink or drugs will give them an out

It's not that they get more like their true selves; it's that they get more like the most primitive parts of themselves and lose the more sophisticated parts, the ability to make judgments. Basically, the ego begins to dissolve. What's left is like the toddler version of themselves.

Like, Mel Gibson probably actually doesn't fear Jews, and probably when he's sober he thinks they're nice people like everyone else. But he probably read some conspiracy theory that made him afraid, and when he got lit up, and felt scared by cops, what came out was his primitive fears and what his unconscious mind absorbed from what he read ... his ability to make sophisticated judgment about the matter was absent.

Personally when I've been really plastered, I tend to say and do raunchy sexual things. I think it means I must want to be more sexual, deep down, but when I'm sober, I judge that to be inappropriate or embarrassing to my ego.

People tend to be able to tell the truth when they're "hammered."
But everyone is different. Most use the excuse the alcohol made them do it. In reality is, they chose to get drunk, therefore they need to take responsibilities for their action.
