If you have an "over 13" account: you go to the "Boards" page, then go to "Chat Preferences" (see link below for the "Chat Prefences" page). Once you get to "Chat Preferences" you will see a pull down that is labeled "Choose a new av". If you pull the list down, the avs that are given to everyone are at the top of the list and the avs that you have obtained yourself are at the bottom of the list (the "given" list and the "obtained" list is separated by "------").
Unfortunately, if you have an "under 13" account, I do not believe that there is a way to view your available avatars. If your account is a "minor" account, you will have to keep track of your obtained avs on your own.
