--speaking hypothetically, of course. And I'm talking a clear, crisp and loud voice that does not sound anything remotely like your own inner speech. Nobody would believe you, but would you believe you?

Huh, interesting. For all of you who said you would trust that the voice is really God, then it would be quite hypocritcial, wouldn't it, to label someone else a schizophrenic who claims he's just doing what God's voice--which only he can hear-- tells him to do? Hmm...

God is a voice that you hear in your heart. It's much more to it than thinking, this is God talking to me. It's a gathering of your own thoughts and knowing what God might expect from you and your own desires. And you have free will to act upon those thoughts as you please. If someone thought they heard the actual voice of God, I would say that they are lying, crazed, or induced by the lies and deciet of evil. The spirit in human flesh cannot bear the greatness and power of the Lord's being. Back in the day He was with Moses and His people and then for many more generations. But even then only certain people were ordained by the Lord and could stand before Him. And also there were many stipulations they had to proceed by to even do that. But not now, we won't be hearing His voice, not since the Ark of the Covenant was taken back by the Lord. Maybe one day soon.

I would KNOW I was crazy.
Especially if I felt absolutely certain that the voice was that of God. Then I'd be filled with conflict. If I were crazy enough, I'd obey the voice -- but if I had any sanity left I don't think I would.

People who hear voices - even not like their own - in their head are always hearing part of themselves. God does not talk to people. The idea is absurd. To suggest that God would do such a thing is to suggest God is rather less than truly divine, by my standards.

OK a voice, let's speculate, begins talking to you.
How would you know whose voice you were hearing?
If you claimed to be religious--but weren't in a monastery or really practicing what you said you velieved--you'd have to go by the content. It would be your decision as to whether or not it sounded like religio--divine whispered instructions or something no good and from another source.
Advice from people in holy orders wouldn't help--the voice could have talked to them and didn't. They woudn't know any more than you did.

But if you were secular, you would have to think about real world outcomes, not attitudes or emotional discomforts. If you disagreed with that outcome--on your own best scientific judgment of what the outcome would logically be--you'd have to ignore the advice of the voice and move on.

Everyone has the voice of G-d within. Some are more aware than others. As long as what you feel you are hearing is "life-supporting", it's fine. Anything, otherwise, should be questioned before taking any action.

If it is the voice of God, best listen because He knows best. But remember to test the spirit like it says in the Bible. That is very important.

I wondered the same thing recently. I remember thinking at Christmas, if my daughter came to me and said she was pregnant, but never had sex, would I believe her? I would like to think I'd heed the Voice, but I can't tell you until it happens.

It just means some people are sensitive to hearing, meanig they can hear and feel those contacting them from within.
It's sad for the ones who ignore it; they're missing out on a whole lot.

It happens to my sister all the time. I have to agree with Syl. If the message you get is really from God, you need to listen. But you need to make sure of that first. It completely depends on the message.

It all depends on what that voice said !! lol
I definetly would question it...then consider it..then dwell on it..
then...keep it to myself...until further notice.
