A puff of white says fungus loud and clear. You need to ge a bottle of fungus medication from the pet store and treat as directed, but do it soon. A fungus is easy to treat if you start early but very hard to cure if you wait too long.

Definately fungus, there are many medications available at your LFS or pet store, most fugus medications contain cupric sulfate which will damage and possibly kill any ornamental snails (apple, mystery, ramshorn etc) or other mollusks such as clams. If you dont have these as tank mates, you can treat the whole tank, just be sure to remove the carbon from your filter. Cupric sulfate is pretty safe on your bio filter as well. If after a week of treatment, you dont see results, you might want to try a more potent medication such as marycyn2, this may damage your bio filter, so you will be better off to set up a hospital tank for your goldie. As magic man said the sooner you treat the more effective the treatment will be.

Poor water quality is usally to blame for fungal outbreaks. you should test your water for ammonia, Nitrites & Nitrates ammonia & nitrites should be kept at 0ppm and nitrates under 40ppm... If you don't want to shell out the cash for the test kit, most local fish stores will test your water for you. If you keep the water quality within the correct perameters, your tanks should be free of illness & infections.

Good luck!

Yes, This is most definatly a fungus, You should most deffinatly treet it as soon as possible as it is CERTAINLY not healthy for the fish, Go to your nerest pet store and buy it and treat it, If this is not an option go online and buy it , You must deal with this ASAP, Also if you have other fish inside the tank , i HIGHLY reccomend you seperate THEM from HIM as you dont want him speading the fungi to them and you never know what is lurking in the water that he has been poooping in and the water could contain various fungi related things, He should be fine but treat it quickly before it turns Nasty, best of luck mate :D Good day

There are pics at this site you can look at and see what your goldfish has and what to treat it with. A nearby pet store that sells fish or a store that specializes in fish only will be able to help you find the right product to treat your fish.

ick kills little fishie so you should do this rather soon, and if you have more than one fish in the take you should remove the infected fish, it will contaminate the other
I hope this helps you out =]

It's either mouth fungus or saprolegia fungus.

You can pick up medicine from your local pet store (preferably one specializing in fish) - feed food high in Vitamin C.
