I thought that eyes become red because of not getting enough sleep. But I slept 9 hours last night which is unusual for me because I always sleep 6-7 hours.

its probably a sign of dryness or allergies. nothing to be worried about.
pink eye is not what you described. pink eye is normally generalized by more of an inflammation in ur eye lids, which i dont think you have.

if you are noticing any discharge of fluids in the mornings, either dry or wet. it is a sign of infection and you should go see an optometrist to get some antibiotics.
but i still think its an allergy or just general dryness which should clear up in a few days. Hope this helps.

Is your eye discharging yellow liquid, like puss? Does your eye hurt? How red is it? Is it a little puffy?
----If yes then it's probably pink eye, also called conjunctivitis. You get pink eye when you get bacteria or virus into your eyes and it gets infected and inflammed. Go to any general doctor or pharmacist and they'll give you some eye drops that will get rid of it. Don't touch your eyes because pink eye is very VERY contagious.
---If your eye is not puffy or painful, then it may just be dry. Dryness also causes red eyes. Just get eye drops that reduce red eye (they sell them in any store).

Is your vision normal in your right eye? Is the eye painful? Any headache? If so, get medical attention ASAP. Otherwise you are probably safe in watching and waiting. Wash hands frequently to avoid spreading to others. If it persists, see a doc.

Common causes: viral infections, bacterial infections, allergies all usually involve both eyes. A foreign body will obviously cause a red eye as well as pain and discomfort.

Uncommon but serious causes: acute glaucoma, acute uveitis.

pink eye is a virus..Ive had it before and it where you have watery eyes, you cant tough your eyes though no matter how much you want to because after you though them, you can spread it to anything you though after that...also there pink and sometimes red and if you DO have pink eye, i know this might sound gross but if you wake up in the morning and there's crust on you eyelashes ect...that's normal, just wipe it off with a wash cloth, also if you have pink eye you should probably stay home because its highly contagious...

If the white of your eye is pink AND stings when you blink, you may have pink eye. If it is, it's very contagious but easy to cure. Just go to the doctor to get a diagnosis. It it's pink eye, the doctor will give you drops to cure it.

Good luck!

You may have an eye infection or pink eye. You should contact a doctor or optomologist to make sure you are not contagious.
