What are some creative things I can do with a record and the cardboard album cover? Another thing about the record itself, is there anything I can do to it heatwise to melt it to reshape it without melting the record to a plastic puddle? Give me your ideas and how I would go about doing whatever your idea is...

There's info and links to more info about making "record bowls," etc. on this page of my site:

(... click on the subcategory called *Slumping*...)

As for the album covers, I've seen some people make purses from them, I think, or you could just use them (or part) as a cover for a notebook, journal, etc.... generally the covers are then sealed (with an acrylic finish like indoor Varathane, etc., or you could just use watered-down permanent white glue like Elmer's Glue All and "decoupage"), particularly on cut edges to protect them.
Should be other things that could be done with the covers too.

They make frames the right size to frame the covers. Walmart and ac moore sell them, michaels also.
As for the record, I've seen people shape them into bowls. Look on http://www.hgtv.com I think they've done that on carol duval, and maybe that's clever or crafters coast to coast. You'd probably find some ideas on http://www.diynetwork.com also.

These 2 sites have things you can do with records. They probably have ideas for the covers, though I admit I didn't look.
