I am making an amateur documentary, for a film festival, I need some ok film equipment, nothing fancy that will break the bank, any store recommendations?

It depends on where you live.

Sometimes there are film organizations that rent out video equipment for a daily or weekly fee.

On the other hand, you can always enroll in a community college film program just to utilize their film equipment. (Many cases that student ID will get you discounts on equipment you need to attain outside school).

Not sure of any specific stores... however, I did go to school w/ a friend who is now making his mark on independent films.

He has always been one to assist fellow indie film buffs/makers/producers/etc w/ information, suggestions, mentoring, etc.

Perhaps drop him a line and see what he has to pass along...
