Going to college but dont know what to pledge. I want to be an AKA but I don't know much about them. Have any advice?

All 4 NPHC sororities have national websites. Make sure to do your research and if possible talk to the women in the organizations. If an organization is not on your campus do not be discouraged and contact the national office that can direct you to a local chapter.

I actually agree that you should wait to pledge. I waited to my junior year. If you wait you are also better able to make a good decision because you are not just joining an org because you want to make friends or because "it's what everyone else is joining" . And the commitment you make to any of the orgs is a lifetime commitment so choose wisely.

Don't pledge until your sophmore or junior year because pledging is very demanding and you don't want to neglect the reason you are in college, to learn. When you get to college there should be a black greek office there to answer all of your questions. Good luck.
