Is this a new drive that you put into an old computer? Most older computers are limited on how large of a hard drive they can use. If the computer is 4 or more years old, it probably is not able to see anything larger that a 12 gig hard drive.

Dont use Fdisk or other utility for format. Just use default commands in computer. Like if you want to format C drive goto my computer and right click on the drive, click on "Format" choose the method "Full".

This is most realiable method. But dont forget to take all neccessary backup of drivel in other partition.

FDISK cannot show the NTFS Partition .you cannot access the data stored in it .
if it is showing insert bootable device - check BIOS & jumper setting.
again the same it means may be your NTFS partition having some error - so format it using win xp for FAT 32 .
Then after you can try for 98 installation using fdisk.
stil now any prblem send me a e-mail.

Most hard drives have a jumper that denotes as cap limit. Some older computers can not recognize a large drive. If you have a newer computer that is capable of seeing large drives then check your jumpers and make sure that the cap limit is not on.

Yes, and also use the newest software that came with the drive to do the full- format function-- (remove all partitions , too). If it didnt come with software, generally you can download it for free from the mfg. website.
