If you can, tell them you found someone cheaper/closer in distance/closer to the family to babysit. It depends a little on the situation: who is babysitting them now, how much are you paying them, and how often? If it is a family member watching them for free, you can say you don't want to burden them or take advantage of them. If it is someone you pay, you can come up with any number of excuses. Know that chances are that they will see right through it though. People tend to know when others make excuses, but I can see how strict honesty might not be the best, either, depending on the situation (ie, the person is too old and you dont want to hurt their feelings).

Find a new setter, and let the old one no your trying out new setters just in cause she can't make it one night or something last minute comes up and you can't get a hold of her, and never call her back to baby set again.

You should a few setters anyway, you never know when someone will be out of town or going to be sick the night your going to need them.

Your children come first! I know you know that so sometime there might not be a nice way to say thank you but no thank you.

Good luck

Be honest with them. I really doubt they want to hear it anyways. I would not say that you are and then call them 10 minutes before you are suppose to be there causing them to be in a bind. But if you do not want to babysit then tell them you do not and if asked be honest as to why...

Just tell them your sorry but you have made other child care arrangements..........or just say that your children have become a bit fickle and they just don't seem to be comfortable with them anymore. If they haven't done anything wrong tell them you would be more than happy to give a reference on their behalf.............without knowing why you want to do this its a bit difficult giving you a good answer

~~ WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR CHILDREN, THERE IS NO NICE WAY TOBREAK IT TO THEM BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY THEY ARE BEHAVING IN SOME WAY YOU THINK IS INAPPROPRIATE ,
CHILDREN ARE EASILY PERSUADED AND
EASILY TAINTED~THERE TOO IMPORTANT
TO TAKE CHANCES WITH! i WOULD JUST TELL HER AND TELL YOURSELF THAT YOUR
DOING A GREAT JOB LOOKING OUT FOR THEM BECAUSE YOU ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON THEY HAVE~THEY COUNT ON YOU TO PROTECT THEM & TAKE
CARE OF THEM~LIKE NONE ELSE CAN.
~SO, HANG IN THERE MOM~
REMEMBER~ ~ CHILDREN OVER FRIENDS
AND EVEN A RELATIONSHIP & IF HE IS
TRUE MAN, HE WILL NEVER COMPETE WITH YOUR AFFECTION FOR THE CHILDREN~ HE WILL APPRECIATE & LOVE YOU EVEN MORE FOR IT!! ~~ ~
