I never could get mine to stop tearing up those expensive ferret hammocks so I just use old t-shirts and hang those in as hammocks. It takes a whole lot longer to tear them up and they don't cost a thing. It is just a natural thing for ferrets to play and chew things so they are just chewing on the hammock because it is there.

Well, ferrets chew on everything, so I bet that he does like the hammock. Just, use something inexpensive that you can make yuorself so that you don't lose any money. Or, just buy him a bed adn get rid of the hammock altogether.

chewing stuff is just one of those little things that make a ferret a ferret. i think they are natural nesters and your ferret is chewing a scratching it up for that reason. i dont buy them anymore i use hand towels and my old shirts for them now. i have 10 ferrets and the hammocks are too expensive to buy on a monthly basis. two of my ferrets that live in the same cage have a kite for their bed. it is pretty cool and has lasted for almost a year now!!.i think the hammocks are boring and uncomfy for them maybe he is telling you something!! another of my ferrets sleeps in an old purse in her cage. different strokes for different "ferrets"

mine never ate theirs, but maybe you should just not get him a hammock, bcuz it might cause intestinal problems if he eats to much.

i does no longer propose cat nutrition because it has no food for ferrets. attempt giving any form of raw meat and raw bones. except for beef as this meat is only too severe in salt. I continuously provide mine lamb, fowl and rabbit and they prefer it. Its large for his or her enamel and they get particularly healthful coats.

Soak the hammock in hot sauce. Once he takes a bite, well you can just imagine what he will think.
