If he was really a dictator why didn't he cancel the elections in November and jail all who appose him? Yeah he sounds like an evil dictator to me...not. Are people really that desperate to find faults in him that they compare him to Hitler? It is pathetic.

It's easy and doesn't take a lot of thought.

He didn't cancel the elections in November and jail all who oppose him because he doesn't have the authority to do such a thing.

I think that people liken him to Hitler because he seems to like to go to war with others for the reason of "taking over" and changing their country to his liking. He also did as he wished - not listening to those that opposed him (like the very ones that voted him into office), and lying to get what he wanted. He also tends to tell the public one thing, and then do another.

What I would do if I were you, to fully understand the comparison, would be to read Hitler's book Mein Kampf. It is really interesting how someone so charismatic could be so sick and twisted. I am disgusted with what the man stood for and what he did, but after reading the book, I do understand how so many were trapped in his ideals and followed him blindly (another comparison on could make to Bush).

I find it interesting that long haired freaky persons answer gets so many thumbs down when its true. Its historical fact that Hitler lied to his people and the Poles to facilitate his invasion. Furthermore I think the comparison is so easy because it appears to the normal people that bush has brainwashed otherwise good americans. Its very confusing to people why he was reelected when it was so patently obvious that every word out of his mouth for the last 5 years or so has been crap. Wake up and have a coffee.....take your head out of the sand and see reality.

Because Hitler bombed his own country to start a war just like President Bush did.

Sheeple People who refuse to accept the fact that the Bush administration Orchestrated the Terror Attacks of 911 are just plain ignorant. It's impossible for Jet fuel or Kerosene to melt iron...LOOK AT THE PERIODIC TABLE OF ELEMENTS. Also if the floors collapsed causing a chain reaction it would have taken well over 90 seconds for the buildings to come down. They came down at free fall speed....9 seconds. There is no logical argument here. Explosives were pre-planted in the building. Case closed! Why are so many people having a hard time accepting this?

there might want to be some who evaluate democrates to nazis, yet i have not considered them marching in the streets holding signs and indicators proclaiming that. I easily have considered video of anti-war protesters evaluating Bush to Hitler. i imagine what confuses you is that Conservatives are conscious that fascism(Nazism) continuously comes from the left or socialist leanings(Nazi=nationwide socialist celebration) . only because the yank left sees authorities as all sensible and in a position to remedy all issues so did the Nazis have self assurance that authorities replaced into the only top decider of any situation. The patriot act even as offensive to a pair does no longer come close to to proscribing freedom as does the political suitable law searching for gender equality(sexual harassment codes) or affirmative action (institutional racism, raising some on the rate of others to be determined by technique of non elected bureaucrats) Enviormental regulation(proscribing inner most resources rights). somewhat than sweat the small stuff (Presidential skill vested in Bush) look on the tremendous image and shun those who see authorities because the only top skill

Inflated rhetoric is nothing new in American politics. Hyperbole is not unique to this generation of politicians. Both have been staples of political infighting in this country almost since the beginning. (And if one watches the British Parliament on C-Span, one will find that the British are pretty good at inflated rhetoric and hyperbole too.)

The cold hard truth is that anyone who aspires to high political office as a Republican or Democrat will have to face lies, innuendo, overblown criticism and the like from all directions. And among those who support and oppose one candidate over another (from any party), there are going to be those individuals whose rhetoric exceeds their intelligence, good judgment, and propriety.

In my view, it is simply not productive to compare Bush to Hitler. Right now, in my view--and this is provisional with me, so I am not settled on it--it might be more illustrative to compare Bush with Lyndon Johnson or Richard Nixon.

Can't say that what he has been authorising and done these last 6 years have not provoked memories of the Hitler's era! And since you've raised the question, the article in the following link might be interesting reading for you:

And shouldn't she have the right to speak out? After all, she had lived under the Nazi occupation, and she is living today under the Bush Regime... Perhaps, she understands the meaning of being victimized better than all of us!

Why cancel elections when you can simply stop those who are most likely to vote against you from voting.

I have to tell you, I love my country, and even with all Bush has done over the past six years to destroy it, I would most likely step in front of the man and take a bullet for him before I would let anything happen to our President. The U.S. is not George W. Bush or the blogbaba, it's all of us.

That said, Bush appears to be trying to do to the Middle East what Hitler tried to do to Europe during WWII. You have to be blind not to see the parallels. War aside Bush and Hitler still have a lot in common.

Hitler did everything in his power to destroy the Jews. Bush has done everything in his power to destroy the American Middle class.

The Department of Homeland Security backed by the patriot act in fact has almost identical powers as the the Nazi SS had. Both claimed to be an asset to National security of the respective countries, both also ended up tools to remove individual freedoms once held by the populations of each country.

Neither Hitler nor Bush headed warnings of caution, both relied heavily on Nationalistic Rhetoric and lies in public and tight knit groups of cronies in private.

Both drove their Nations to economic disaster, got a lot of people killed in wars designed to artificially stimulate damaged economies.

Both were short, little meglomaniacs who pandered to the elite at the expense of everyone else.

But most telling, both were the most powerful, and hated men of their respective eras who were convinced they were doing right, when in fact they were dead wrong.

I truly wish the comparison was trash, but they are similar in many ways.

Why? Because people are STUPID. That is such a slap in the face to anyone who lost a loved one to the Nazis.

Compare Gitmo - holds "detainees" - more like mercenaries - to Concentration Camps - slaughter of MILLIONS.

Gitmo "detainees" are provided with copies of the Koran. Hitler did not provide the Torah to the Jews. Gitmo detainees have GAINED WEIGHT since their capture. Judging from the pictures *I've* seen out of the Nazi camps, those people were starving. If anyone has *any* evidence to disprove this, please share it. America caters to the dietary needs of the "detainees". Hitler starved people, so it's pretty safe to say he wasn't too worried about keeping things Kosher. Hitler intentionally set out to commit not only genocide against the Jews, but he also murdered homosexuals and the handicapped. I defy ANYONE to show me evidence - and I certainly don't mean Loose Change or prisonplanet.com - a REAL source - that Bush has singled out a race for termination. Hitler used his prisoners for medical testing - almost always horrifyingly cruel - we do not do that.

Anyone stupid enough to make that comparison obviously knows absolutely NOTHING about history and should be so ashamed of their ignorance that they remain silent.

It is a pathetic attempt by the left to make Bush look worse than he is
Bush is not anything like Hitler
Reasons:
--Bush is an evangelical Christian, Hitler worshiped the German state (Yes "true patriot" Hitler was not Christian)
--Bush is a Christian, Hitler killed MILLIONS of Christians
--Hitler was anti-semitic, Bush isn't
--Hitler made himself dictator for life, Bush was democratically ELECTED twice by the American people (democratically elected =/= dictator)
--Hitler killed anyone who didn't agree with him, Bush tries to make compromises with them
--Hitler believed in the supremecy of the "aryan" race (he made this whole race up btw), Bush does not believe in any racial supremecy

I could keep going and going and going however I believe that is enough to show all you brain-washed bush haters out there that Bush bears little resemblence with Adolf Hitler

I hope this helps you all see the light,
-TBird

Because he is a fascist and his family has always been Hitler lovers! In fact, his grandfather had all of his assets seized for supporting Hitler financially!

How many Americans would have thought this family worthy of election to so many high offices, if the mainstream media had not continued for decade over decade to HIDE the horrible story of how the George Herbert Walker Bush family "earned" much of its wealth and power, i.e. by serving as the principal bankrollers in America of Adolf Hitler and his "National Socialist Party", both in its rise to power, and even after World War II was declared, with NAZI Germany on one side, and America on the other? ( And yes, we know that George H.W. Bush served as a U.S. navy pilot. But that is a tiny part of a much larger story.)
How many people know anything about the "George Herbert Walker" and the Prescott Bush from whom both of the Bush presidents got their names? George Herbert Walker was the grand-father of the first President Bush and Prescott Bush married Walker's daughter, and became his "partner in crime" in the years leading up to World War II. Prescott Bush was rewarded by the Republican Party for siding with the Nazis against the United States, with a seat in the U.S. Senate for himself, [ from the state of Connecticut], and with the U.S. Presidency for his son and his grand-son. And the U.S. media did what they were told, and did their best to make sure that the American public never learned any of this !
