i don't think that there is a need to go for ref. books.
ncert has given much information and numericals to fight with. the boards will be fully from ncert ane not even a single que. will be frm other books (except some numerals) . if u had really much time left after reading ncert u can go for ref. book but it's not easy that u r left wid time

i think u should go by the ncert books. everything will come from that, nothing other than that. if u need to buy ref books for extra help then do so, but follow ncert. also to practice buy sample papers of the subjects..its very helpful, like together with or u-like

since i was a cbse student u prefer the ncert books because they are standardized.if u dont catch any topic then just refer reference material,but dont use reference material for answering the questions

stick to NCERT as the core, and use reference books only for extra q.s

you should refer to both but reference books are always better and more detailed and specific.
