I don't like it when people say, "Ain't is not a word", etc. (That was just an example.)

A word is something you can write, read and pronounce.

"Ain't" is a non-standard English WORD.

Just a little FYI for you all.

On the contrary, the word "ain't" IS in the dictionary. So is "bling bling" and other slang words.

Actually, 'ain't' is a colloquialism. Though accepted in common everyday speech, it is not considered a proper word for formal writing or communication.

BTW Say 'hi' to your grammkids!

Interesting Question...I remember my 3rd gd. teacher telling the class " ain't ain't a word, 'cause it ain't in the dictionary". I have always remembered her words, and I find it interesting the way you have explained the context of the word! Write On!!!
