I have Toshiba Satellite M35X-S114. I want to buy RAM memory for it. The person who wants to install the RAM told me that the I should buy DDR-2700 RAM for my laptop. While I was looking online, I found DDR-2700 with 184 pins and DDR-2700 with 200 pins. Which one should I buy?

you do no longer could top off each and all of the slots. the present 2 slots with 256 MB Ram each and each should not be moved because of the fact that is achievable that they are already set up in twin channel mode. Your computing device, Gateway 817GM, specs states it may use DDR PC3200 (400Mhz, 184-Pin), yet particular it may use PC2700 to boot yet would be slower than PC3200 (400mhz) (regardless of the undeniable fact that, people who do no longer use a working laptop or computing device heavily are often no longer able to tell velocity distinction between PC3200 and PC2700 besides) a million gb stick could paintings.

My gut instinct is to buy the 184 pin for a laptop but if you want to be *sure* just turn off your laptop, take out the ram and actually count the pins. It's tedious but it shouldn't take you too long and that way you'll be sure which one will fit in your system :).
