My ankle is black after a fracture.its been black for months and it doesnt really seem to go away.I dont think its a bruise,cuz when i touch it, it does hurt.It's just black on the part where i broke my ankle and around my foot.im not sure what it is.could it be just dried blood inside my ankle?

Yes, it's old blood that collected under the skin. It was probably deep in the ligaments also. You can try soaking the ankle in warm water, or elevate your foot and put warm soaks on it to help dilate the blood vessels and absorb the old blood. You can massage the area lightly to help break up the old stuff so it can be absorbed. It will eventually fade away.

It seems like after months any blood in there should be cleaned up by your body, dead tissue too.
Did you see a doctor originally? You should definitely see one now. Maybe it is infected (was your skin broken when this happened)?

Probably just left over dried blood, but get it checked by your doctor. It may be seeping blood.....still. Good luck. Pops

did you ice/compress/elevate/and rest it after it happened? If not it's just taking time to heal and probably not permenant,
