how to tell my friend i like her and keeping my friendship with her?

i am a freshman in highschool and like one of my friends and i want to tell her really bad but i dont know what should say to her and how to start the conversation

how long have you known her? if you've been friends for a while that should be ok, but if you just became friends you might wanna wait a bit so you guys are comfortable and she can get to know you better.
after that, get some alone time with her. and tell her how you feel. be honest, and start off with relationships. maybe if she's already taken or who she likes... usually, if things go your way, she will ask you who you like as well. if not, add it in the conversation. tell her you are friends with this someone and never told them before because you are afraid of losing that friendship. and then be honest and tell her its her, and that you never told her before hand because of those reasons.
this way, she knows how you felt and will either respond to it, or she will tell you she thinks of you as a friend, and this will reinforce that friendship.

ok. Well first of all, do you want to ask her out or just let her know that you like her as in more than friends, but her friendship is valued and you wish keeping it like that? If you want to be more than a friend to her, even if she has a boyfriend, just stay by her side and make her company. Make her feel really confident in you and make sure you feel confident about her too. Then you won't hesitate much to tell her how you really feel. If you see she really isn't interested in you that much, it doesn't matter, just let her know because she should know it.
