My husband and i are from Indiana and we are tired of the cold and snow. We can transfer to any city in the west we want but never having been west we need input please. Our children are grown so it's just us.

i live in portland oregon.. which is west of where you are. northwest :) i love it here, but if you are looking to get away from the rain Portland, Seattle aren't you cities. also snow is common in Seattle, we don't get much in Portland (apperently with the exception of this year..). Try California if you want something sunny.
But Portland is just gorgeous! Beautiful scenary! Fall is breathtaking, all the leaves with a little bit of rain.. its so pretty! The Multnomah falls, the Columbia gorge, the beach! (Seaside, Lincoln City, Astoria, Tillamook (with the delicious ice creamary! and cheese factory). of course we are very liberal (some view as downside, for some upside), low crime :) people have no accent and know how to drive... hehe :)
Well, I can ramble on and on :) but if you don't want rain and snow, like I said, try Cali :)
GOOD LUCK!

You need to consider what you're looking for. All sun and hot, then Arizona, if you want by the beach, then San Diego, CA...there are so many beautiful places..I would suggest you do a little research and see what has more to offer of your interests.

The West is overpriced and over-crowded, especially California, not a good area if you care about quality of life.

I like Fremont, California. It's not too cold or hot, it's a small town, and it's fun.
