Most everyone answered it correctly. Depending on the judge, you could be found in contempt of court and jailed (usually up to 30 days). If it seems that it was a mistake (you didn't hear, etc) ore you are ill and really couldn't stand, then most judge's won't do anything. BUT, if you give them ANY attitude about it, plan on looking through some bars for a few days.

the respond, as maximum human beings have stated, is in all threat no longer lots. Many judges at the instant even tell human beings to "save their seats" whilst strolling in (even nonetheless usually whilst courtroom is termed in consultation, the bailiff or courtroom deputy says something like "pay attention ye, pay attention ye... God bless america and this Honorable courtroom." thus, once you're status, it is not lots for the choose yet for the employer and america. Failure to stand is to disobey the choose in his presence. He might have you ever bumped off, or he could positive you, or he could according to threat even take you into custody for contempt. whether, at the instant, until eventually you're complely making a fool out of your self, those issues at the instant are not likely.

That's contempt. However, the judge would have to be of the "Roy Bean" variety to actually level charges of contempt. Most judges and bailiffs wouldn't even notice.

Contempt of court. That involves a fine, and possibly some jail time (but doubtful in that case).

You can be cited for contempt of court. That can lead to a fine and/or a few days in jail. At best, it shows disrespect for the judge and will make it harder for him/her to sympathize with you.

If you are unable to rise, nothing.
If you are capable of rising, you are disrespecting the court, and will probably (minimum) be thrown out of the courtroom, and (maximum) fined or jailed for contempt.

If you don't you can be arrested.
If the President of the USA comes in, if you don't want to, you don't have to rise but........if you are in a courtroom and the judge enters "You have to rise" that's the law.
