Why is it that black people never blame their own race for selling them to white people to bring them to the united states for slavery?
I realize that slavery is wrong, but other black people had a part in their own people's slavery.

True, but a not very publicized fact. Although I think colonization by whites caused that too. All races have been sold into to slavery, of course some much more than others. We all need a much better and more honest history and anthropology education.

They didn't know how the Europeans would treat the slaves they were selling.

It's not because they don't know, your seriously discriminating by saying that.

Just because some were sold into Slavery doesn't mean that makes what Americans did right. Don't assume that the Africans knew what was going to happen to the people they sold into slavery.

The truth is that they probably don't know. If you were sold into slavery by other white people to black people, you probably would still blame the white people for enslaving you in the first place--think about it. You wouldn't even remember the person who captured you for the slavers, you would remember the person who tortured you and made you work till your death and took your wife and children away from you and persecuted you. You would eventually forget about the person who helped the one who did the wrong against you.

It is fact that black tribes sold other blacks (prisoners and other conquered tribes) into slavery, as did Arabs. You cannot blame the "racist" slave owner, as to him, the slave was merely property that he paid for.

Black slaves in America actually had much better lives than blacks in Africa. Many stayed on the plantations after slavery was abolished because of that better life.Do not believe what you saw in the miniseries ROOTS. It was a propaganda tool.

I'll bet most of you didn't know that there were, in fact, BLACK slave owners in America, did you?

Ummmm because you still didn't have to hang us, rape us, steal our children away, humiliate us, count us and 3/5 a human, steal us from freedom and put us into bondage even if we were born free, deny us education, deny us the right to vote, deny us the right to work, deny us the right to own land, deny us the right to not be bread like cattle.

Ok...get it? Just cause I gave you the puppy doesn't mean I'm to blame when you shoot it in the head!

Firstly, your source links are either from white supremacist sites or they do not support the arguments put forward.

Secondly, africans did not rape, mutilate, oppress and overwork their own people.

Keep trying to spread your bullsh*t propaganda, but the truth will always out.

I think you guys really need to reread your history books in order to understand the role Africans had in selling other Africans into the slave trade. It was not as large as many say.

"It would be nearly incorrect to call it "slavery"; Africa had SYSTEMS OF SERVITUDE. It was usually the result of war, and there weren't that many wars. Make sure that you understand this when you try to compare western slavery with African servitude...

*No families were ever broken up.
*Nobody was stripped of their religion, culture, names or traditions.
*Nobody was dehumanised.
*Many times the servant would marry into the household that they served.
*Slaves/servants could work thier way out of debt, and even become the head/King of the very house that they served under.
You can not say this about western slavery."

Black Africans played a minor role in the slave trade overall. The main players were Europeans and Arabs.

Many times Europeans would invade a village, and tell the men that they had to either help them to find slaves or become slaves themselves along with their families. This was a pure form of putting Africans against each other. Africans....being native to the land...knew how to locate other villages better than outsiders, and this saved slave traders a lot of time. Also...many times after the Africans would help traders locate other people for slaves, they would STILL end up becomeing slaves themselves.

because white people bribed those men to do it and those men were probably a rare type of trader that dosent come along very often. it was probably hard to find a black man that would do it

don't listen to all who answered above me, they all discriminate blacks on the inside. well, blacks are still powerless before to stay and you know whites are very superior and forcing and then they were brought to Americ. somehow, the stupidity of the whites influenced the blacks and the blacks turned out to be bandits and uneducated in America. but still i doubole pity them because they have a painful past and they, most of them but not all of them, became poor and uneducated. somehow, the whites are to blame for this. whites are always to blame for anything wrong in America because whites started it all that is immoral in America.
