I agree with it. He has been a great Patriot that was clutch in the playoffs. He's been with the team for four years now. Each year getting better. He definitely deserves it.

I think the pats would be making a mistake to let him go. I remember when the Eagles played the Pats in the bowl...and your corners were out. I thought we had a shot to beat you because your Cb's were no names. Asante Samuels was like a joke. And then we all watched him play. I'd keep him....dude is a player.

Just hope that they can work out a long term agreement with Samuel...sometimes these players find the "franchise" tag to be a bit of a dishonor. What is the rate for "franchise" this year? 8 mil or so? Some dishonor, eh?

Pats have disappointed me...he should have gotten a long term deal....it will be the same story like Adam's who left to Colts after having been tagged...any how. i hope 'em Pats win the Super Bowl this coming season...they deserve it...in fact they should have been the ones who won against the Care Bears in Super Bowl 41 (by the way, were any of u aware that this was Super Gay Bowl?)...Colts should really thank Racheed Caldwell for him dropping 2 crucial passes, one in the end zone and the other in the last minutes of the game.

it was a good move by the Pats. i wish my niners could have gotten him, but he really was a must for the Pats.
to tell you the truth i was surpised by this. Belichick never usually spends too much on players. he is kinda paranoid and uses this period to "test" player's loyalty (i.e. if they will ask low for a re sign). he only shows favoriteism to 2 of his players, Tom Brady, and Richard Seymouer (sp?). so i was surpised just because of Belichick's personality, but in general as a team, franchising him was a gerat idea, i haf a friend who is a pats friend and he went crazy when Belichick let Ty Law go without trying that hard to resign him

good. Now the Pats need to get another corner who can shut down receivers, I no just the guy, TY LAW!!!!! get Law back and that is a dangerous combo of speed and power which will produce at least 20-25 picks.

The Pats better keep him, last thing you want to see is the Broncos get him. imagine champ bailey on one side and Asante Samuel on the other side. damn

Yeah...because they need to keep him at any cost...They will for a year at least...Hopefully, they won't let him go after next season either...He's their best DB...or else they better pick up a future star DB in this draft or free agency...
