do lip & tongue peircings hurt? because i might get them done soon. the only other peircings i have "Right Now" are my ears at the top and stuff.
i really dont care how much it hurts im still getting it done but .... ya does it hurt? lol.

Of course it hurts. They are sticking a needle through your flesh. However, as you know, the pain passes quickly. It does not hurt nearly as much as a nipple or genital piercing though. Now those are significant piercing ouchies.
If you get your lip done, make sure you have it set so that there is no contact with your teeth. My daughter had a labrys. the stud was attached to a long piece of silver that fit into the gums down below the gum line.
The tongue you best do when you have a week off school. Have a huge stack of cold drinks around because you will not feel like eating. You can plan on sucking lots of ice cubes to keep the swelling down. as well you talk very funny for that first week. My piercer refused to do my tongue because it is so short my teeth would be damaged no matter what we did. So make sure you see a reputable piercer.
We have had a lot of piercings in my family. The only real hurt came from infection, not properly caring for the wound. Make sure your piercer uses TOP QUALITY fittings in your piercings. Inferior quality can result in infections that just never go away.

When I got my tongue pierced, the actual piercing of it didn't hurt. But the following days is when it hurt. But I remember it would only hurt if i moved my tongue, like when I tried to eat it hurt, when I spoke it hurt a bit. I had to eat soups for a few days but after a while it was as if nothing.

i've never had my lip peirced, but had my tongue peirced twice when i was younger and it honestly did not hurt. seriously. the only uncomfortable part was when they pull your tongue out of your mouth with the 'tongs' but all in all it wasnt bad at all. best of luck

lip - i am not sure about
tongue - not as scary as you think. after affects of healing are more painful and the piercing itself.
