If you are accompanying your cat, it should be fine. It can be put in a small carrier that will fit under the seat in front of you. Place absorbent materials on the bottom of the cage, in case of an accident. He/ she should travel just fine.

However, I would NEVER ship a cat in the cargo hold of plane. I cannot think of a more terrifying experience for a cat.

Yes. However, you need to make sure that you know ahead of time what kind of airplane and check to make sure that this airplane's cargo hold is pressurized.
Certain planes have certain cargo holds unpressurized. A pet will die during an unpressurized flight.
You should be able to phone the airline's reservations and information number and find out if the aircraft has any unpressurized cargo holds. Most airlines, that operate aircraft which have one, make it a policy to ALWAYS load live animals in the pressurized cargo hold. But mistakes will happen, new employees, or contract employees who don't make much money and don't care could accidentally load you cat in the wrong place. So if you can verify that the aircraft you will be flying does NOT have any unpressurized cargo holds, then you can be confident that your cat will arrive in good shape.

Absolutley not. hundreds if not thousands of pets die in the cargo of planes each year from lack of pressure and very cold tempatures. DONT DO IT! It was in the news within the last year about how bad it was.

if you put it in a travel bag for pets, and you pay full price for a ticket instead of putting it in you lugage, then it should be ok
