Unfortunately it does...
and we can't do anything about it
Wars, family breakups, social crises, most of these have been brought on by money. Yes, we do things for "justice" too, but in my opinion, it is all brought on by those little green things (if you're in america of course, apply "green" to the colour of your country)
So yes, i think the song is not stupid... it's actually quite deep and true if you apply it to the world today

I don't own my home, the bank does. If I don't pay them, I don't have a home. So now I'm living in my car, but I don't own my car, the bank does. So since I can't pay them they take my car. Now I have no home and no car. So I live in a cardboard box under the bridge, but I'm hungry. The soup kitchen is only open once a day. What do I eat the rest of the day? I don't have any money so I guess I only eat one time a day. I lose a lot of weight and get sick. I go to the hospital only they look at me and know I cannot pay for services. They find I have exposure, malnourishment, as well as a list of ailments including lice and crabs. I'm kept in the hospital for as long as they can keep me pro boono, then send me on my way. I'm not fully recovered, I have no place to go except my box under the bridge. I die in that box because I had no money to pay for food to keep me fed, a room to keep me warm and protected, and medicine to make me well. Now I ask you, how can you not think that money doesn't make the world go round?

Well, you need a job to get money, but in order to have a working company to serve people who pay money, you need money. When you earn money from your job you spend money at another store/place where you can get the supplies to live. But you must have money for all this. Then the money goes to that company and they use it to keep the company in progress.
SO YEAH, MONEY DOES MAKE THE WORLD GO 'ROUND.

it's just a stupid song, only the money goes around the world for a good cause would be for charities, but other then that if you have money problems arise between your friends and family sometimes.
