if you feed her grain then you will want to start giving her less. you will still have to milk her once a day for about 3 days give her tomorrow, a cow mastitis treatment after 3 days only milk her every other day for a while then ever 3 days and that should dry her off after the last milking give her another dose of tomorrow. if you have any more Q you can e-mail me.

Yes, if you just don't milk her, she will dry up on her own. BUT..if she just kidded, leaving her udder full is painful, uncomfortable and, she could get mastitis.
It's best to milk something out of her every day for a while.

I found an article for you... Go down to How to dry off your doe.

She shouldn't hate being milked, she might desire to have fun with it. Is she an Alpine or British Alpine? they are slightly wilder than different breeds. If she is, i might advise you get an anglo nubian or golden guernsey particularly, they're lots friendlier. they might desire to stand and chew cud on a similar time as you milk, try dealing with your youthful inventory extra, groom them as quickly as an afternoon tied as much as get them used to being restricted. they might desire to confirm you as herd chief. once you milk her, tie her up and supply her a short feed with some treats, like carrot and apple. verify you do no longer milk as while you're bell ringing! do no longer haul on her teats, if something push your palms up into her udder slightly to verify you do no longer pull. close off the bag jointly with your thumb pressed close to on your hand, then squeeze your first finger, then 2nd etc each and every of how down on your little finger to strip the milk that throughout the time of the teat into the bucket. do no longer enable milk shoot back up into the udder, and don't so it with chilly palms. To enable her dry out, do basically no longer strip her out once you milk, go away a sprint in the udder - yet no longer adequate to reason mastitis.
